Staff needed to capture order specifics at the counter that Shopify POS has no field for. Built as a POS UI extension on the cart surface, writing to order metafields so the data followed the order into fulfilment.
They wanted the same fields duplicated in the online checkout. I said no. Two sources of truth on one order creates reconciliation work forever.
